Nixie clock IN-14

Nixie clock with IN-14 tubes

About Nixie clock IN-14

In this clock, IN-14 nixie tubes are used to make a 6 digit display that displays time and date. The peculiarity of nixie tubes is its magic and very organic glow that cannot be replaced by any other types of modern displays. Nixie tube has 10 different electrodes (also called cathodes) inside the tube, each cathode represents a decimal  digit: 0, 1, 2 … 9. These are formed with thin wires. There is also 11th electrode (called anode) inside the tube. The tube is filled with a neon gas. Now, if around 150 volts are applied between anode and one of cathodes, the cathode starts to illuminate orange light. For example, if cathode has a shape of „5“ the orange light appears around „5“ wire.

The housing of the clock is made of a metal cover (available in 5 colors) and wooden plates. Wooden plates are stained with different stains and varnished afterwards. The customer can make the desirable combination when combining different colors of metal cover and wooden plates.

Every wooden case is a unique original and has it’s own number. That’s why the customer gets exactly the wooden case he/she choses from the photos.

How to order:

  • Chose your wooden case
  • Chose the color of metal case

Technical parameters

  • Maximum voltage of the internal DC-DC converter for nixie anodes: 200 VDC
  • Power consumption (max.): typ. 210 mA @ 12 VDC = 2,5 W
  • Outer dimensions: 100 (height) x 67 (depth) x 217 (width)
  • Weight: approx. 480…520 g (depends on material of wooden plates)
  • Digit height: 18 mm

Functional features

  • Automatic date showing (default enabled – shows every minute last 3 seconds)
