Toggle Switches – NEW Shaft
NEW SHAFTs for Toggle Switches: for ROLAND Juno, SH & Jupiter series synthesizers & other equipment
Problem:
The old Japanese music equipment sometimes has toggle switches without a shaft – it was broken before and was lost. Nevertheless the switch is still working because only the shaft (= the actuator) is missing. Due to very hard obtainability of these switches we decided to make replacement shafts
Advantage and flexibility of new shafts:
In general, 3 types of toggle switches with metal shaft are used
- 5.1 mm diameter shaft in 2 or 3 position switch (used in e.g. Jupiter 4)
- 4.8 mm diameter shaft in 3 position switch (used in e.g. Jupiter 8 and Juno 6/60)
- 4.8 mm diameter shaft in 2 position switch (used in e.g. Jupiter 8 and Juno 6/60)
These switches have also different pinout and spacing. That means, 2 position switch for Jupiter 8 and Jupiter 4 are not the same because of different pinout. Normally it is hard to obtain the needed type of switch
The solution ist to replace the broken shaft inside your broken switch.
We offer all 3 types of shafts so that the repair of EVERY toggle switch shaft is possible!
How new shafts are made
New shafts are made by means of vacuum casting with epoxy resin. Original shafts were used to make the precise mould. The mould copies every detail of original element, so even smallest details till µm are duplicated. This is a huge advantage over clumsy 3D printing that can’t reproduce all the tiny structures of the shaft.
Please note. The whole shaft is made of epoxy. Instead of original metal part there is an epoxy colored into grey color.
Check the pics below and chose the shaft you need. If you are not sure, disassembly your switch before purchase and compare the look of the inner part of the actuator with that on the pics.
